Stories are universal reaching all ages, environments, and countries and they can help students learn the pleasure of reading, listening and speaking French. "Il était une fois des contes" contains 17 stories from Africa, Quebec, the Near East and France and other French-speaking European countries. Each story has an introduction that presents the author, the country of origin and special aspect of the story. Activities are included that look at cultural and intercultural, semantic and lexical aspects of the story. Students can listen to the stories on the MP3 CD included with the book.
