Each level covers approximately 120-150 hours of study and offers more than 850 different exercises and activities with an emphasis on reflecting the practical aspects of daily and professional life. Illustrated throughout with photos taken from the video sequences "Reflets" has an attractive, uncluttered layout. Grammar is presented explicitly and systematically and a grammar section, table of verb conjugations and transcripts of all audio-recordings are included at the back of the student's book.

Progress can be easily monitored using the 12 evaluation tests found in the teacher's book. While a valuable asset, the videos are not a compulsory component of the course and each video sequence is independent of the others as far as the story is concerned.
