Bienvenue en France

Supported by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and written by one of France's most experienced teachers of French as a foreign language, "Bienvenue en France" is aimed at adult beginners who wish to achieve rapid competence in simple but mature spoken French, coupled with a secure understanding of the essentials of contemporary French life. While not touching on any technical or specialised areas, the register of "Bienvenue en France" is particularly suitable for business, professional or academic learners, and the videos also offer the option of open learning arrangements. "Bienvenue en France" comprises 26 filmed lesson units offered on two 3-hour video-cassettes, and two student's books, in which the filmed lessons are expanded with grammar and cultural explanations and exercises. The filmed lessons are reproduced in the books as simplified picture sequences, which serve as visual reminders and cues for follow- up classwork or for homework. The textbooks are illustrated throughout in full colour, and the whole course is exceptional value for money.
