Une vie d'instit'

Authors: Renée Birks M G Garabédian O Ledru-Menot
The rapid growth of interest in the teaching of French to primary-age children has thrown the question of teacher resources into sharp relief. "Une vie d'instit'" has been produced in response to the need for more French teachers in the primary sector, and takes learners from a minimum GCSE level to the equivalent of a first-year degree course. The material has been selected as part of the training package to be used by teachers in Scotland under the "Modern Languages in the Primary School" project.
The video-based course focuses on the day-to-day life of an "instituteur", using interviews with teachers from different regions of France, speaking not just about school life, but their homes, hobbies and aspirations too. "Une vie d'instit'" could be used for self-study or as a basis for a taught course. See also "Travail d'instit'".
