Preceding level one of the very popular course "Gaston", "Avant Gaston" is ideal for very young learners. It has a limited emphasis on the written word, focusing instead on learning French through oral stimuli such as songs and stories combined with numerous game-based activities. Stickers are provided with the pupil's book to enable many activities to be completed without the need for written work.

All the familiar characters of the "Gaston" course are introduced in "Avant Gaston" using the same bright colours and simple layout which are certain to appeal to young learners.
